Welcome to PowerCore Studio where anyone and everyone is welcome! If you're a new client and have never been to our studio in the past, you’ll love our positive and supportive atmosphere full of passion for health and fitness. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, just getting into exercise or a professional athlete, we have a great variety of classes for you.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

If you are brand new to using a Pilates Reformer, we highly recommend taking the Sculpt + Tone (beginners) class or a Private session prior to our other classes. This will help familiarize you with our equipment so you can get the most out of your workout.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Any new fitness class can be a little intimidating. Pilates offers numerous benefits to your body, no matter your fitness background. You can perform a wide range of exercises and Pilates' moves on the Reformer with its' straps and springs. The Reformer gives added resistance and a sliding platform that challenges your workout.

 

PowerCore classes tone and firm the entire body with particular emphasis on the core. The resistance of the springs can be adjusted to individual needs. Regardless of which class you choose, let your instructor know you’re a beginner so they can offer modifications and adjustments. 

 

It is common to feel muscle soreness after your workout; this does not mean you are out of shape. It simply means that you are challenging your muscles in new ways or working new muscle groups. You’ll improve your posture, your bones will strengthen, muscles will tone and firm and you will look fit. We want you to walk away with an energized "wow" feeling.

WHAT TO WEAR

Wear form-fitting workout clothing that is stretchable and comfortable. This way the instructor will be able to see your movements better and adjust you accordingly. We highly recommend grip socks; regular socks will make you slide too much and can be unsafe. Grip socks are available for sale at the studio.

ABOUT PILATES

Created by Joseph H. Pilates in the early 1920’s, Pilates is a method of exercise and physical movement designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body.  Joseph Pilates intended Pilates to be about the art of control, an exercise method where you control your body, mind, and muscles. The moves he designed focus on core muscles in the "powerhouse" (abs, pelvic floor, lower back), proper alignment of the spine and awareness of breath.

Pilates dramatically transforms the way your body looks, feels and performs. It builds strength without excess bulk, creating a sleek, toned body with slender thighs and a flat abdomen. One of the best things about Pilates is that it works extremely well for a wide range of people. Athletes and dancers love it, as do seniors, fitness buffs, yogis and women rebounding from pregnancy.

Staying hydrated is very important. Please bring water and a towel for all that amazing workout sweat :)
